I got as far as briefly paging through the Dune Encyclopedia. This is going to be a slow, confusing game. # # # 2020-02-23 I started the game, read a bunch of game specific information, and played a few random turns. The configuration for the logger is located at: C:\civ_iv\Beyond the Sword\Mods\DuneWars Revival\UserSettings\Autolog.ini It did not work at first, no matter how hard I tried and tried and tried. But I think the real trick is restarting with the Autolog set up. Anyhow, maybe (just maybe), along with a ready made config file for the whole shebang, I'll also have one for the Autolog. At this point, I am just reading about the game mechanics and getting used to the interface. This isn't really CIV IV with a Dune Mod, this is Dune Wars Revival as a whole new game that just happens to use the CIV IV engine. This truly will be slow going... and has a certain chance of being abandoned. I like CIV IV. I do not know if I like Dune Wars Revival. On the other hand, if I am not wasting my time playing CIV (by any name), that does give me more time for other pursuits. # # # 2020-03-26 I don't want to learn a new game. I want to play a slightly different version of Civilization but not a comprehensive Mod such as this. I am thinking about deleting the install and setting up Thomas War or something similar. Not this moment. But soon enough. Oh, in the world at large, this is in the Middle (or start, take your pick) of the Corona Virus. So, it's like the ideal time to play a game. I could lose days and not care one wit. # # # 2020-04-08 I do a lot of Decision Making in the middle of the night. And one of things I decided last night was that I would not be playing the Dune Mod... well, not at this time. But then, likely never. The main reasons being: 1: Clearly, I don't want to. It has been two months since I loaded the mod. 2: I don't want to learn a new game. I want to play Civilization with a few twists, not a complete reworking. 3: I don't like the color scheme. All brown is not visually appealing and is hard on my eyes. 4: It looks like this expands upon the BAT MOD (as opposed to the BUG MOD). And my last experience with the BAT MOD was not favourable. I shall pass. # # # # # # 2020-04-08 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler
