Violin & Banjo Violin: 2019-11-23 Banjo: 2020-02-10 ARCHIVED: 2020-06-07 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # # # # # # # # # # # # The library has a program they call The Library of Things. Along with the previously posted Test/Meter projects, I got ahold of two musical instruments... and then, stopped checking things out. Of course, the final date (for the underlying files) is fairly well on top of the outbreak of The Vid, so that may well explain that. I'm posting these together, because it may not seem like it, but I'd like to keep the file count down. And they are really one and the same. # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Violin Notes The strings would not stay tight when I turned the knob {to tune it}. And of course, I do not know thing one about violins. I got the sense that pulling the bow across the strings (keeping in mind that I tended to push it) was like rubbing one's fingers on the edge of a wet wine glass, so as to make the crystal vibrate. # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Banjo Notes The Banjo is in much better shape than the violin. Not that I know about these things, but it seems to be in tune. I do not know how to work the frets... and it is likely, not worth the effort to try and learn. But my long fingernails make pretty good picks. It is fun to pluck at the strings. Though, it's also sort of boring. In many ways, I'd rather listen to real music. I went back to playing with my drumsticks, as they are more conducive to banging on the back of a chair while listening to music. Though, hand over frets, just plucking to the beat, while creating no real sound worked fairly well, as well.
