FILE: [Name] Response DATE: 2020-05-20 ARCHIVED: 2021-02-24 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Every once in a while (not nearly as often as one might suspect), I get an offer via email (please, call it spam) to improve my website. Since they are never personal, I ignore them. I do not know what I would do if someone (or something) were to offer meaningful custom-tailored advice. In addition to the spam, two people from out of the past have contacted me (through the email posted on my site, which is not my primary account). I now live with the first (odd how that goes). While I only have foggy memories (at best) of the other. {And since it doesn't fit into the format of this document, I will conveniently forget a third, noting that there may well have been a fourth or fifth, as well.} And finally, we get to the subject of this entry. Nine months ago, a complete stranger wrote a custom email with nary a single buzz-word, regarding various aspects (and obscure aspects they were) of my site. As follows is my redacted response. # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Dear [Fan], I'm sure Mr GigglesWorth work is crap, which is why it wasn't posted. The links are not dead. They never were. But if the following does not suffice, give me a shout back and I will see what I can do. I am most proud of The Minataur Tails (The Second Book in The Dragon Bound Series): http://www.paufler.net/brettwords/dragon/D-BOUND.html As to enlightenment, you may find Embracing The Smile to be of interest: http://www.paufler.net/brettwords/smile/smile.pdf I'm glad you're enjoying the site. I appreciated receiving your email. Thank You, Brett # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Having never received any further correspondence from [Fan], I feel that my response may have been lacking. I made the mistake of composing my response on the fly, which is something I have resolved to no longer do. If I get any further emails, I will sit on them, considering what to do (or write) prior to responding. Also, I will endeavour to be friendlier. As to Mr GigglesWorth's Opus (The Foolish Being’s Pocket Book Guide to Personal Enlightenment) this was posted to BrettWords/shorts a week (or so) after I received the email. I would no longer describe Mr GigglesWorth's Work as 'crap', but it's hardly my best work... just something whose title called to [The Fan] in question. So, yeah. I like Fan Mail. Getting an email from a complete stranger in appreciation of the site was a kick. And although I will try to be more nice, friendly, and so on in any future replies, I think this post clearly demonstrates than the real response will always make it's way here, somewhere on My Website.
