FILE: Article Proposal DATE: 2021-06-03/04 ARCHIVED: 2021-06-27 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # There was a time when I'd get an offer for employment once a month, maybe once a week. But I no longer maintain a presence on the sites that generated such interest. Nowadays, once a month to once every other month, I get an offer from some stranger to optimize my website. First, I doubt I will spend any money to further this website beyond paying the server fees. Second, no inquiry has ever been meaningfully personalized. And it has been my experience the more generalized the approach (advice, or whatnot), the less effective it is. However, recently (and for the first time) someone sent me a proposal, asking for writing guidelines and how I handled third party content on my site. Basically, would I host an article written by another; and if so, the rules of the game. So, will I? Who knows? There is a first time for everything. However, that first time will not be this time, the text as follows being my side of the conversation. After my second response, I never heard from them again. Truthfully, I remember the exchange as being slightly longer. But also in truth, I wrote the final response with the full understanding I would be using "the material" in a way such as this. # # # 2021-06-03 >>Proposal Issued Let's see what you got. - - - 2021-06-04 >>Request For More Information You opened. I called. By the rules of the game, you're the one who has to put their cards on the table first. So, show me what you've got or fold. # # # I feel a little self-concious, because there are only two entries, where I had remembered there being three. So, content wise, it's a bit short. But on the other, this is a direct hit: no better or worse than many of The Quickies down Food Row or other items in this dump.
