Meticulous Legends of Revolution 2021-02-10 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # Custom Map Garden of Eden Multiple Choke Points Bonus Great People # # # Fairly stupidly (yes, stupidly)m, if one starts as a Minor Civ one is at War with everyone... and therefore, one Declares War on everyone. I think it makes much more sense to simply Be At War (as that is what one is) with no penalty. I may just have to go back into World Builder and Grant myself a Bonus when the appropriate time comes. On the other hand, I was planning on being a War Monger. So, it really makes no difference. # # # Whatever! War It Is!!! # # # 2021-02-10 4000BC T0 Either I do not know how to work World Builder completely (very likely) or World Builder does not have full functionality (just as likely, if not more so). Either way, I do not know how to remove the Starting Circles and The Game wants to put two Warriors (no matter how many times I delete them) in the Random Map starting position. It hardly matters... except to one such as I -> Meticulous. Once again, whatever. # # # I believe I will only pass on: World Builder - Pre City w/Warriors Game Save - Post City w/o Warriors Gads this annoyance has taken it out of me. # # # In other news, it does not look like the Mass Declare War Event {at The Start of The Game} will have any long-term consequences as Minor Civilizations cannot engage in Diplomacy {and as such; cannot hate}. # # # 2021-02-10 1000BC T250 I'm playing on Deity with a Garden of Eden Start that I gave to at least one other Civilization. Here, The Romans have a start which matches mine in every way. And I was very generous with others, as well. So, I should see some competition... or that's the idea. But right now, I am running away with it. Sure, some of that has to do with the 6 Great People I gave myself. But I don't think my lead should be this good. Once again, I think The AI is overbuilding Troops, which is hampering it long-term. Great Generals have been born... even if I've not seen anything more than a Scout. Of course, I'm way off in a corner. So, those in the middle are getting a pounding. Still, Rome has a start equal to mine in all ways and it doesn't seem to be doing a thing. Oh, well. # # # 2021-02-10 150BC T335 I am about to go on the War Path. Or more accurately, I have 34 Units camped outside of Timbuktu and I am about to lay it to waste. Yeah, sure. I took a tremendous advantage. But it is not my fault that my Opponents are building towering Stacks of Units; thereby, hobbling their economy. Maybe, someone will come back Late Game. But it seems unlikely. # # # 2021-02-10 715AD T443 As much as I outgun my opponents, let us not discount the Defensive abilities of a stack of 20+ Skirmishers. I lost a half-dozen Trebuchets in a failed Attack of Timbuktu. But now I have 25 Cannons and the City is going down. In the meantime, I harvested Experience off of two Warrior Filled Cities. So now (after upgrading them), I have slew of City Raider III Cannons, many of them with Combat I, II, & III. Also, I Settled Five (count them) Great Generals. So, any new Units are going to be pretty sweet. # # # 2021-02-11 810AD T462 I think the goal at this point has to be to keep it fun. Without Technology, all is lost. And The AI does not value Tech as highly as it should. Also, I should note that the Malinese (or Aztecs, for that matter) could have overrun me during the first 300 Turns, but neither made the attempt. Sure, I had The 300 and Sacred Band, but a half dozen Units would have killed either. And that was all I had. For Ruthless, The AI really wasn't/isn't. In a Normal Game, by T500 or so, I am threatened by Astronomy. But no one is even remotely close. # # # 2021-02-13 1040AD T508 I am done. I guess I find it hard to maintain interest after Victory is a foregone conclusion. Along with The Barbary Corsair, I have enjoyed pummelling Cities with Stacks of Siege. I anticipate playing again... very shortly. Ruthless AI sucks (as do Revolutions), so both of those are off the table. I think I will try Monarch with Tech Trading. And in addition, I will allow myself to trade out starting Resources so as to avoid endless Map Regenerations. Stone really is that important if one is going to Build Wonders. And if one is not going to Build Wonders, why start with Pericles? # # # # # # 2021-02-13 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler
