Pericles Crush Diety: Ten Resources 2021-01-03 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # I am essentially replaying The First Game on This Map: Isolated Start Ten Resources All Grasslands All Wet (with River Frontage) Pericles There are two Continents: Left and Right with Right slightly (but only slightly) larger Oh, and it is a One City Challenge... which provides plenty of advantages, considering I did no conquering last game. We'll see how well they play. But I expect the same problems will result: Too Many Civs Fielding Too Many Units Since I will get Happiness from The Globe Theatre, I need not worry about The Religions. Monotheism Select Wonders T500-T750 War Launch Date There will be Zero Issues prior to then. So, it's more of a personal selection of how I wish to win in The Late Game... unless of course, some Civilization can get its act together. But that's unlikely. # # # # # # Deity is looking stronger. They are Building more of The Wonders and I lost the race to Judaism due to lack of focus. So, reload. Also, I don't need to Research The Wheel or Build Roads. So, I can fine tune on those accounts, as well. # # # # # # 2021-01-03 620BC T288 Battles Rage Around The Globe! Plenty of Great Generals have been born. But I am getting competition (some) on The Wonders. But I must admit. It does not feel like someone else is running away. So, who really knows? A winning CIV will do well. But I question how possible a Large Empire is in this Mod. # # # 2021-01-03 260 BC T324 Three Civilizations (presumably, Minor) just bit it in rapid succession. So, more than one Civilization is Attacking. I am landing All The Wonders. I lost out on Great Wall and Stonehenge. But so far, no one has Built any of the others. Still, I have high hopes for an interesting End Game. # # # 2021-01-03 1390AD T590 Well, that's probably it for me. I'll have to roll it back prior to making any troops if I want to play this. I brought a stack over to Attack Carthage. And I was wiped out instantaneously. Though, I like The Map. Still, how to win. I will not be that friendly with others. So, what to do? I'm thinking I'll load right before I finish Building The Barbary Corsair and try again. Whoops! If this goes into the Late Game, I am going to need a Source of Oil. # # # # # # 2021-01-04 1105AD T521 I have decided I will use the Barbary Corsair to explore, Attacking only Minor Civilizations. Well, actually, on the first loop, I will avoid all contact. I likely have to T600 before there is any worry in regards to Astronomy. So, I will Research other Technologies in the interim. Barbary Corsair: No Contact They'll only want me to do things which I will not want to do, leading to premature negative modifiers Technologies: Let's Keep The Lead Thus, Astronomy is not a priority Eventually, I will need a source of Oil, so either Ethanol Corp (whatever the name) or befriend a Minor Civ and ensure it is parked on Oil. # # # 2021-01-04 1410AD T600 Razing the coast with my Barbary Corsair has been a joy. I've earned a Great General and it's presently at 36 Experience, so that's how many Ships it's killed. I am starting to Build my Sea Net, as it's just a matter of luck and time before someone declares. Though, Carthage and America are at War, so that's good. If it lasts long enough, I will send over some Troops and try to secure Oil... but that's a long way off. # # # 2020-01-04 T605: My Corsair finally died, after killing around 40 Enemy Ships. Oh, well. It was a good run. # # # T612: And that's it. Augustus landed a decisive raiding party. So, at Deity level, The AI has teeth. That Barbary Corsair was fun... worth getting earlier on. I do not know how to defend against the imminent invasion. Maybe, Mountains. That could reduce the landing site considerable. Thus, I need more benefits. Though, what about that Corsair? Fun! # # # # # #
