2019-08-18 (c) Copyright Brett Paufler # # # 2019-08-19 I will be playing a Dutch-Portuguese Hybrid. All of Dutch & Portugal's Units & Buildings All of William & Joao's Traits To accomplish this, I will be souping up the William and the Netherlands entries in the appropriate xml's. So, that's: William van Oranje of the Netherlands with: Unique Buildings: Dike (Dutch) Customs House (Portuguese) Unique Units: East Indian (Ductch Oostindeivaarder) Carrack (Portuguese Caravel) Traits: Creative (Oranje) Financial (Oranje) Expansive (Joao) Imperialistic (Joao) Starting Technologies: Agriculture (Dutch) Fishing (Dutch) Mining (Portugal) Mysticism (Because... um, Oranje) Which is to say, I took an extra one of my choice, since both started with Fishing # # # For the Buildings, Units, & Starting Techs: C:\Users\DATA\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets\xml\civilizations\CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml BUILDINGCLASS_CUSTOM_HOUSE BUILDING_PORTUGAL_FEITORIA UNITCLASS_CARAVEL UNIT_PORTUGAL_CARRACK TECH_MINING 1 TECH_MYSTICISM 1 So, if that's not clear, to the above noted file, I added these lines. Actually, that's not true. I found the original file down in the base Beyond the Sword directory, copied it, pasted it into the noted director, and added the noted entries into the Dutch Civilization. # # # For the traits: C:\Users\DATA\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets\xml\civilizations\CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml TRAIT_EXPANSIVE 1 TRAIT_IMPERIALIST 1 So, I opened the xml and added those lines under William's description, next to his other traits. # # # I, also, want to modify the Difficulty Level files. Finding the base, I copied it and pasted it into: C:\Users\DATA\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets\xml\gameinfo\CIV4HandicapInfo.xml And then, swapped out these values in lieu of the defaults: HANDICAP_NOBLE 0 50 10 100 100 100 100 100 100 0 100 250 1000 250 50 50 0 1 1 100 100 Many are to my advantage. # # # GAME SETTINGS William of the Netherlands 12 Opponents Fractal Large Temperate High Seas Marathon Cylindrical No Barbarians Aggressive AI No Tech Brokering No Tribal Huts No Random Events All Victories # # # The First Roll {on the Map} is Good Enough! Corn Wheat Cow Crab There's Fish slightly out of reach, which I will most likely let go. # # # Prior to playing the game, I wish to make a few rules. 1: No Settling of Great Generals. They must all be attached to units. 2: I cannot Declare War against anyone who starts (or acquires a City) on my Home Continent. Though, I can antagonize them and do not have to make Peace. But once at peace, they must Declare again, before I can attack. 3: Coastal Cities are preferred. But no matter the case, I cannot Settle away from water. I must be next to a River, Lake, or the Ocean. {Since this was unclear, I decided later that I could join a War at the behest of another.} # # # 2018-08-20 Not rules, but actionable items include: 1: Prioritizing The Great Lighthouse, The Colossus, and Sid's Sushi. 2: Creative Constructions over Mining, Inc., this game. 3: I will move my Settler to capture the Fish, as this is more important that the Cow... certainly, to my people. # # # 2018-08-20 4000BC T0 The Game agrees with my analysis of founding my Capitol on the Point. So, I will go with it. But production is going to be scarce. So, I may well be building my Wonders in a Second City. I've got Tundra on my Southern Coast, so I believe I am close to the South Pole. Of course, there is no Ice. So, I am not that close. # # # 2018-08-20 3980BC T1 This is scraggy land. I may come to regret not having that Cow or another two Hills in Southern Lights' (my Capitol's) Fat Cross. We'll see. Sailing shall be my first Technology. The Great Lighthouse and The Colossus are far more important than a Religion. Though, if I have a neighbour, I hope they found one for me. # # # 2018-08-20 More importantly, I removed the Custom Assets Folder. And the Game appears to be functioning properly, with all the Custom Settings preserved. So, I shall assume they are maintained in the save file. The CustomAssets Folders (the full Directory Tree) has already been regenerated. But my stuff is no longer in there. # # # 2019-08-20 3925BC T5 I have two close neighbours. Hatshepsut of Egypt: Hatty! Gilgamesh of Sumeria: Gilgy! Hatty: No War at Pleased Permanent Alliance at Friendly Gilgy: Will War at Pleased Permanent Alliance at Friendly Both have Creative with it's +2 Culture, so there will be border wars. Of the two, Hatty is the better neighbour. If there is no one else on this Land Mass, I fear Gilgamesh will declare War eventually. # # # 2019-08-20 3850BC T10 I am doing Five Turn move sets (i.e. playing Five Turns at a go, then breaking and doing something else), which is working out for me. Sitting Bull of the Native Americans was encountered to the North of Sumeria. So, hopefully Gilgy and S-Bull (work it out) will go Head-to-Head. S-Bull: No War at Pleased Permanent Alliance at Friendly So, S-Bull will make for a good long-term neighbour, as well. If I build my first two Cities towards Egypt, I may well be able to cut Hatty off. One of those Cities would give me Gold, so I may go for this ploy. Then, assuming I have the production, if I gift a City to S-Bull closer to Sumeria, this may induce them to War... or be a needless expense. I'm thinking it's a needless expense. # # # 2019-08-20 3775BC T15 Gilgy's Capitol nicely cuts off the Peninsula, trapping S-Bull. Perhaps, the same conditions lay on the other side of Hatty, as I cannot see past her. # # # 2019-08-20 3700BC T20 S-Bull's Capitol cuts off the Peninsula, as well. So, I cannot see past his lands. The Island may end. Or this might be it: one large Continent. I probably should have Farmed the Wheat over the Corn, so as to have access to the extra Hammer, sooner. It may be more important to Research Bronze Working ahead of Masonry for the Forestry Chop. # # # 3580BC: Buddhism has been founded in a distant land. # # # 2019-08-20 3550BC T30 In a few turns, I will be at Size 3 and have my Workboat, which I will place on the Crab {or is it Clams, I shall not reload to discover which, but I'd bet on Crab}, as the +2 Commerce is more valuable to me than +1 Food. Actually, let me look at that, again. Eh, it's a wash. I'll grab the Crabs, first. # # # 2019-08-20 3400BC T40 Almost nothing happened. Well, of note. I finished the Work Boat and got myself some Clams {probably, Crabs}. And I started on my first Settler... the first of several. I believe that is all my Capitol will be building for the next hundred Turns. So, I should start on a Lighthouse for The Great Lighthouse in one of my early Cities. I'll be spending a fair amount of time (what, with these short Turn Sets) deciding where to place my Cities. I am only going to get a few of them. # # # 3150BC: Hinduism has been founded in a distant land. And that land was not Egypt, as I have Espionage on Egypt and can see Hatty is in the midst of Researching Polytheism. # # # 2019-08-20 3100BC T60 Land is tight on this map. I will be Settling the Flood Plains River Bend, first. And after that, I believe the Gold up north will be next on my list. The Settler pops in one turn. At which point, I will switch to another Work Boat to grow on, before building another Settler. I have good Espionage on Egypt, which is nice. I wonder who Hatty is throwing all of her points into? Maybe she has trouble on the other side? I will make an abridgement to my rules. Although I cannot Declare War, should Hatty request my help (or anyone, for that matter), I can come to their aid. {It's amazing how quickly I forgot this Amendment to the Rules and had to reason through it again, when the appropriate time came}. River Bend will be my Barracks City. # # # 2019-08-20 2800BC T80 I founded River Bend and Gold Rush is next. I may only found one more City after that. We'll see. Gigly Settled in my direction. Hatty did not. She must have someone on the other side of her. I have Researched Sailing and Bronze Working. Animal Husbandry is next. And after that, Masonry for The Great Lighthouse, which I might wind up building in Southern Lights. I do not have Copper. Hattie does. # # # 2019-08-20 2500BC T100 My territory is Horse Heavy. No Copper. But plenty of Horses. Sooner or later, I'm going to have to Research Iron Working. But not yet. I will have to Research some sort of Military Technology after Masonry. Perhaps, Archery then Horseback Riding for Horse Archers is the way to go. With a Stable, they will come out of the gate heavily Promoted. I have three Cities. Everyone else has two. I want at least one more. I don't know that my Economy can handle more than one more City, at the moment. # # # 2019-08-20 1500BC T200 That was a long Play Set. I said I was going to quit after The Great Library. But instead, played another thirty odd Turns. In this situation, after I get my Horse Archers online, I will need a target... by hook or by crook. # # # 2019-08-20 1450BC T205 Who knows how I am doing? I am really hemmed in, here. # # # 2019-08-20 1250BC T225 There is not a whole heck of a lot going on. I will be fighting Gilgy before long. I may have to break one of my rules. Hmmm. I don't really want to do that. I will have to antagonize him to no end. # # # 2019-08-20 900BC T260 Gilgy is the odd man out, as he is not of the faith. Everyone else is running Judaism. I just got Alphabet, but it won't do me much good, as I am the Tech Leader. I am Researching Meditation for Monasteries, which will push my Research and Culture up a bit. And form there, Priesthood for the Temples and their +1 Happiness. The Culture boost is merely gravy. I was very much thinking about breaking my rules. But I shall resist. Another 200 Turns and there will be foreign lands to conquer. Gilgy can attack or stew, as he sees fit. Assuming I am the first to Chemistry (and already have Astronomy), I will blanket the globe with my Privateers. My Tech Lead is substantial. I have a Library in every City save Gold Dust, which is busy building the Moai Statues. It will be a Power House once those are completed. So, things are looking up. Eqypt is collecting most of the Early Wonders. I will have to think long and hard if I wish to keep those original rules. Then again, Egypt is Peaceful and has allowed me to live thus far in Peace. So, perhaps Peace in the End Game should be Hatty's reward. # # # 890BC: Someone built The Pyramids 880BC: I got Fail Gold in three Cities. Not bad. # # # 2019-08-20 850BC T265 I traded two Techs to Hatty for two I needed. I am now working on Metal Casting for the Colossus. It's time to quit on the day. But I am feeling confident. I am decisively ahead in the Techs. And with one or two Cities pumping out Horse Archers, I do not believe Gilgy will attack. And if he does, I should be able to crush him. I have two Archers in every City. Four Horse Archers {in total}, which isn't that many. But it may well be enough to flatten two of Gilgi's Cities, as he only has a single Archer in the two I can see. Yeah, things are looking good. Maybe not Record Breaking. But it's looking nice. After Metal Casting, I should look into the Religious Wonders... or just go for Optics. One or the other. I will have dual Religious Buildings (Temples and Monasteries) everywhere. So, it may make sense to try and maximize those. On the other hand, since I only own Five Cities, Building those Wonders would be expensive {a non-profitable expense}. # # # 2019-08-21 800BC T270 Electing to take advantage of my Open Borders with Hatty. I met Elizabeth and Montezuma. I presume Monty lies just beyond Lizzy. Elizabeth (Lizzy): War at Pleased Alliance at Friendly Montezuma (Monty) War at Pleased Alliance at Friendly From now on, I believe I will assume everyone will form an Alliance at Friendly. I am currently Building Temples and Monasteries. But after that, I will be going back to Horse Archers. It is just a matter of time before Monty or Gilgi declare war. And I want to be ready... or be so powerful, they dare not. Hatty and Lizzy are Best Friends. So, I will be Friends with Lizzy, as well. I believe Lizzy is Building The Colossus. So, I may not get it. # # # 790BC: I have found Ice in Egypt, a single square south of my reaches. So, I am on the Southern Edge of the Map. # # # 600BC: I used my newly acquired Great Merchant to Bulb Currency. # # # 2019-08-21 500BC T300 I Settled a City between Izzy and Monty. It will give me Beaver in just a few Turns. And in the long run, another Iron... or so I believe, as I think I can take both Izzy and Monty in the Culture War. I'm going north now, to see if anything is available on the Northern Coast. I have essentially made Peace with Gilgi, Opening my Borders and Trading Mysticism for Gold. I will send two Horsemen North through his lands and towards S-Bull to see if there are more Settlement Opportunities. It's really the only reason I made Peace with him. Peace is a subjective term, here. We were not at war. But I was not being Friendly. Monty is the Odd Man Out. I am sure if he attacks, I will lose Beaver Heights. But long-term, I believe there will be a pile on against him. The Colossus is still open, but it's likely a 100 Turns out for me. # # # 480BC: Open Borders to Tokugawa (Tacky). Tacky is a Psycho. Shall I even bother to look it up? Tacky: Will War at Pleased Can be Bribed to go to War at Pleased. # # # 470BC: Hatty asked for Tribute, which I denied. I doubt I will give much Tribute to anyone from here on out. She'd make a great ally. But Solomon's Shrine is a much better prize. # # # 2019-08-21 450BC T305 S-Bull is the end of the line to the north. So, either the the land curves upwards after Tacky or there is another Continent to the North. I want to get there first. I found another Settlement Site by Izzy. So, she's not too Expansionistic. I will Settle the site if my Settler gets there in time. To the North of the City Site is an Island or another Land Mass. So, I have a Galley in Production to check it out. I am 10 Turns away from Code of Laws. Izzy is my only competition. I will have to refocus on Optics once it comes in. Yeah, I think I should do that. My Carracks are good enough to launch a War. As things stand, that's more than 100 Turns out. Though, a few Courthouses should make that all happen a bit quicker. I'll quit for the afternoon (and go for a walk or something) after I Settle my next City. It will either be on the Mainland or that Island, depending upon what Izzy (or others) do. Oddly, although I want to Build The Colossus, at the present moment I am only working a handful of Sea Tiles (four to be exact), so it may never be worth it. I keep on pushing it back. This latest time for a Galley, as Settling the Cities of my choice are worth more than +4 Commerce a Turn. # # # 420BC: Beaver is online (so, +1 Happy) and I am working a grand total of seven Sea Tiles. It will grow, but it makes the possible loss of The Colossus less than catastrophic. # # # 2019-08-21 350BC T315 Izzy looks to be my chief concern, at the moment. So, I have switched all Espionage from Hatty to Izzy. I got the City up north. I'm calling it Wheat Bread. Two Sea Tiles away looks to be a Single Square Island. I may Settle another City there. I am led to believe the offshore Trade Bonuses will enable the City to pay for itself. On the other hand, I would have to produce the Settler. It will provide no other bonus. And if someone Settles it, Wheat Bread is going to kill it Culturally... because of being founded first, if nothing else. I did not stop when the City was founded {as I said I would}, but waited for Confucianism, as well. That landed down in Beaver Heights I'm Researching: Compass -> Machinery -> Optics When Optics lands, I would like to have my Home Town Defence fully implemented and to have a few Settlers ready to go. Going Religious if very tempting. But it will not pay off. The Wonders are too expensive. And I've got lands to conquer. My Calvary (Horse Archers) are headed west to explore. But I think I would prefer an Island Chain to anything else... unsettled, but of course. It's quite possible the landmass loops around north past Monty. But I am not in a position to see that yet. # # # 2019-08-22 440AD T394 On 380AD, Lizzy requested I join her in ridding the world of the hated Aztecs, which I happily agreed to do, subsequently bringing in Tacky as a War Ally, as I am not ready to go on the offensive. This turn, I met Saladin of Arabia; henceforth, to be known as Sally. He is very backwards and practices Hinduism... though, he doesn't even have Polytheism. At some point, he will be easy pickings. Sally: No War at Pleased But our relations will never be that good. He's Cautious at -1 # # # 2019-08-22 450AD T395 I contacted two new Civilizations. Charlemagne of the Holy Roman Empire (Charlie): No War at Pleased But likely more importantly, both Charlie and Sally have good Defensive Traits. Charlie is in Third Place. Cyrus of Persia (who may not get a nickmame): No War at Pleased Is a lightweight in this game Lizzy is the only one with any Techs to Trade, but she won't Trade. She's Researching Culture Stuff, which will allow her to nab Second Place in The Game. # # # Mehmed II of the Ottoman Empire is in Second Place (Mr Dr... or Md): No War at Pleased He's got Construction that he won't Trade. He's got a good size {of land holdings}, which means good pickings. But he may not be the first target. Eh, I'm not ready, anyhow. If I was, I'd be attacking the Aztecs. But I'm just biding my time. # # # 2019-08-22 500AD T400 Montezuma had a stack headed my way, which looked like it was big enough to take Beaver Heights. I sued for Peace and Monty gave me 55 Gold, which is much better than losing a City. I found an Isolated Island, so I will plop down on that, for sure. I planned ahead, and both of my initial Carracks left with Settlers. The other Settler is hemming and hawing. I think it is a done deal that I will Settle one south of the Copper next to Persia. Yeah, that's a done deal in my mind. I will send up a load of Crossbows to defend it and let it sit for a few Hundred Turns. At some point, I'll declare on Persia and let his stack come to me. Peace with Monty was the way to go. I'll Settle my two Cities, next turn. Then go for a walk. # # # T401: The Largest Civilizations 1: Md 2: Master Controller (me) 3: Lizzy 4: Unknown 5: Monty (so, War is working for him) 6: Cyrus 7: Sally 8: Hatty # # # 2019-08-22 T401 505AD Settling Lone Star Isle was a mistake. I should have waited the 20 Turns until the Workers arrived... or better yet, sent my Carracks out with both Settlers and Workers. That City is going to be a drain for some time to come. # # # Um, I didn't stop. And I tire or writing up the Leaders Traits. I met Pascal and The Silly Man, whose real name is too hard to spell. # # # 2019-08-22 575AD T415 Tacky Peace Vassalled. Gigly Declared War. So much for our Happy Family. # # # 580AD: I took multiple reloads for a variety of reasons... most having to do with the poor Diplomatic Interface. First, Tacky would not take a City of his as a gift, so I reloaded and Razed the City instead of capturing it, as I don't want it and only kept it to avoid the Raze City Minus. Then, when I Razed the next City on the same Turn, Tacky hit me with the Raze City Minus, so I reloaded to keep it. Now, I am at Peace with Monty, as he was doing poorly. Gilgy has a bunch of Chariots in range, which can do some damage, but it will be short lived. Oh, I lost a Fishing Boat... and may loose some Fish Resources. # # # 2019-08-22 625AD T425 Gilgy is fighting a fake War. He thinks that because he has a stack of six Chariots in my Territory, he is doing something. But they aren't plundering any improvements. And they are basically scared to move. In a few turns, my Horse Archers will have redeployed from the Aztec Front. And I will take him to task. Catapults are in production. It's not so bad. In my War against the Aztecs, Tacky Peace Vassalled. And my Cultural Influence on the Land surrounding Japan Town increased {on account of Razing a City}. I did not make note of what I would do if I Captured an Inland City. So the rule is that I cannot keep an Inland City {not on a River or next to a Lake}. I can return it to a Vassal or gift to another. But if I intend to Settle the area, the City must reside on a River or be Coastal. Thus, Kish is going to be levelled. Maybe most of Sumeria is going to be levelled. Or then, I think I should expect Gilgy to Capitulate to me. So, I should leave whatever Cities I take intact. That makes more sense to me. # # # 2019-08-22 675AD T435 I did my walk and came back and did ten more Turns. It's clear Gilgy isn't going to do anything. I whittled his stack down and am now bombarding one of his Cities. My best bet is likely crashing my stack against his City and assuming he will Capitulate... and accepting if he will. If he doesn't give up after the first City, I may well reduce him to dust. But that doesn't tell me what to do with the Captured City. It is a quandary. I found another Island off of S-Bull's land, which I should be able to Settle in under 10 Turns. If I can, I think I will Settle the Peninsula beyond Tacky. And that is all for the night. The AI does not do very well if it cannot Trade freely. # # # 2019-08-23 675AD T435 Since there is no Tech Brokering, I have nothing to lose by gifting Tacky all of my Techs. Instead of the Border City, I should take Gilgy's Capitol, as that's the only one I have any desire to hold. # # # 2019-08-23 680AD T436 I'm, also, going to stop Researching Astronomy, as I'll lose +31 Beakers a Turn. Now, I'd gain almost as much. But it is a wash. So, no rush. Instead, I am Researching Guilds for increased Firepower. # # # 680AD: I am at War with Monty, again. # # # 2019-08-23 725AD T445 Gilgy Capitulated after I took his Capitol. He had all his units in Kish, as that's where I had been camping out. I moved my stack to Uruk. And rather than redeploying, he went on the Offensive, which was a big mistake, as I took his Capitol a few Turns later. The Culture War is interesting there... as on the first turn, I already control two Tiles. It showcases the yielding nature of Vassals Cultural Control. In the interim (since the start of the day), Pascal Demanded Tribute, which I paid, as I am in no position to fight a war in the Northern Lands... a full Continent away. And Sally wanted me to Convert to Hinduism, which I most definitely will not. I'll send a boatload or two of Garrison Troops to Persian Bluff. But my main Military Focus will be in taking down Monty. No Peace 'Till Capitulation! After Guilds, I will Research Astronomy... or such is my plan. If The Bad Lands (the island at the end of S-Bull's Island Chain) does not have any trade by that point, Astronomy is the way to go. Astronomy: 1139/8400 I don't think the Beakers Decay. But hopefully, I'll remember to check the current status when I resume Research. {Nope, I never did. But I did some online Research and became convinced Beakers do not decay.} # # # 2019-08-23 730AD T446 Hatty Peace Vassalled, which I was not expecting. My goal is to Capture Tenochtitlan. At which point, I expect Monty to Capitulate. # # # 2019-08-23 The Most Powerful Civilizations 1: Master Controller (me) 2: Mehmed 3: Silly 4: Charlie 5: S-Bull 6: Cyrus 7: Monty 8: Packy Gold Old Pascal might be a sweet next target. # # # 2019-08-23 775AD T445 I do not see how Monty can stop me from taking his Capitol. At which point, I'll be surprised if he does not Capitulate. And if not, more Cities for me. I'll be happy whenever someone on the Far Continent Declares War. They may not. According to the Power Dynamics, I am the Most Powerful. And I've a 50% lead over Mehmed (in Second Place) by Points. Still, Persian Bluff is not fortified as strongly as I'd like. So, someone may try to Sucker Punch me. The rest of the Map is almost revealed. There are no other Islands. Well, there's one last area, so maybe. {Nope.} I'm Settling that City in Japan's Hinterlands in Two Turns. Victory is assured. But I am enjoying myself. # # # 2019-08-23 785AD T457 Lizzy Peace Vassalled. So, everyone on my Home Continent is my Vassal except S-Bull and Monty. And Monty will be falling soon enough. # # # 795AD: I lost my Attached Great General and another HorseArcher being too Aggressive with Monty. He still will fall... even if I lose a few more units on the way. Part of the reason was securing four workers when Techno Falls. {And to do this, I felt I needed to cut the roads, so they could not move out.} # # # 875AD T475 My Score is double my nearest competitor. The Normalized Score is close to 100,000, which is more-or-less my default target, these days. Score: 1,914 Normal: 99,144 Monty Capitulated a few turns back... right after I took over Tit Land... just as expected. I lost 4-6 Units in the Fray (+ Catapults). I'm going to attribute all of those losses to Poor Leadership. My Archers are Scouting out the next Continent, looking for the next target. The War is a good 50 Turns off, as I need to Transport my troops, first. I believe we are in the End Game. Let us build mostly Troops from here on out. Oh, I had to reload the Game once during the Aztec War, as I went to check to see if he would Capitulate and I hit Cease Fire in lieu of Trade. He only had one or two poorly weakened Units left in his Capitol. It was a done deal. I'm not Making Peace at that point. And with the same Random Seed, we got the same results as best as I could remember. # # # 2019-08-24 900AD T480 I am back to Five Turn Turn Sets at the moment. Nothing much happened, here. I'm Scouting out the Far Continent. And gearing up for war. I should (probably) be producing Units at a 2:1 clip to Buildings from here on out, maybe more. Of course, United Nations may be the easier Victory. # # # 2019-08-24 950AD T490 I will be attacking Persia next... and just go through the continent straight, without much thought about who is next. I don't know how soon I will declare. But I am thinking about Razing Tarsus and Founding a New City by the Gems. # # # 2019-08-24 1090AD T519 Taking over Persia took longer than I expected. Cyrus was able to bring 10 Units to Susa. So, I switched targets and took over Persepolis. I was stretching myself a little thin. And although I say I should be more disciplined in my attack on Packy, I'm pretty sure I'm going to Declare next turn. There is not much to be gained in waiting. Though, I should wait for my stack to be in position. So, I guess that's what I will do. # # # 1210AD T542 The defeat of Packy was a foregone conclusion. I need way more Siege than I have. I lost Siege in the Attack, but nothing else. So, it is Siege that I have nothing left of. I believe I will win after defeating The Silly Man. He is next on the list in order. I am very much in the End Game. Full Military Production with the Slider down to 10%. Well, the Slider is usually at 10%. But I am running it at 50% at the moment, so I get Chemistry faster. I believe that is the last Tech of the Game. After that, I will run Research at 0% until I have nothing to spend Gold on. The next game will be a Christian Game: Found Judaism Found Christianity Found Islam The Four Monk Wonders No New City until all Old Cities have a Temple of Judaism, while that is king. And Christianity after that until the end of the game. I will be modifying the XML, again. # # # 2019-09-29 1388AD T589 I have been going through Medmed's Territory, capturing Cities. He doesn't want to Capitulate, as that will give me the game. Oh, well. I have won no matter what he does. But I tire of this slam- fest. By all rights, he should have Capitulated after the first or second City. There is not much thought. All Cities are producing Troops. And it's slam the Trebuchets; and then, full speed ahead with all the Troops. I lost one of my Great General Units. I don't find them to be that important. I will save the clean-up for another day. My mind has had enough. # # # 2010-08-29 1388AD T589 Score: 3,539 Normal: 132,297 I am calling it an Implied Victory. The AI Civilizations are not doing anything. They are not fighting back. I am insanely dominant. I win. Total Competitor Score: 3,859 Total Ally Score: 3,757 So, my Vassals have the same score (more or less) as everyone else on the board. The Opposition does not stand a chance. I think if I have a Military, I will call games in the future at some Score Multiple, between first and second. I have 3.3x the Score as Charlemagne in Second Place. Yes. Yes. Yes. I cheated and gave myself all sorts of advantages. But that said, the game is no longer fun and I am doing time. Game over. # # # Thus, assuming Military Parity or Dominance, I believe I will play with additional Victories in the Future... unless it seems like I am Cheesing Out. Double Score: to closest rival Dominant Tech: 100T difference between me and second place Techer, if first in Score. I don't know. I don't want to make it so I can win if neglecting Military. But if I am the Military Powerhouse Score, Power, Tech Lead It becomes hard to say. But I do have 51.54% of the land, needing 52% for domination. If not Capitulation, a City or two will do. It has been decided. # # # # # # GAME OVER IMPLICIT VICTORY # # # # # # 2019-09-02 (c) Brett Paufler
